My parents were strict about lyrics, yeah. Probably the same as yours. I remember once Beth was absent-mindedly singing, "Like a virgin, touched for the very first time..." and my dad says, incredulously, "What did you just say?"
Beth, at about eight or nine, had no idea of the implication of the lyrics but knew from my dad's tone of voice that whatever it was she had just said wasn't okay. So she was all, "Huh? What? What did I just say? I don't remember..."

Later, in High School, my parents would regularly throw out things like Jesus and Mary Chain and Dead Kennedys.
