[this is good]
Nice! A friend of mine learned all kinds of these crazy carnie tricks. Some of them were pretty fricken' impressive!

Is that all? You aren't going to tell us the story behind these pictures? You're killing me!

Let me guess? You did not like the Sleep Number bed and though this would be easy to get the kids out of for school???

Do tell more or I might lose sleep.

Oh man I second what Janie said! You need to tell us more!

Sorry everyone, there's no amazing story to go with these photos. I was just looking through my Flickr pics and liked them enough to grant them their own special post.

They were taken at a children's museum this summer. The bed of nails is used to teach some scientific principle which I couldn't explain if my life depended on it. The idea is that because the weight of your body is spread out between all the nails, each nail only has to deal with a certain amount of force and therefore they don't stick into you. There. Einstein couldn't have put it better.

Oh, and best icon picture ever! :)
Okay... but is that you on the bed?
Nope. In the top photo it's my son, in the bottom photo it's my daughter. I did lie on the bed of nails, and it's surprisingly comfortable. Or surprisingly not that uncomfortable.
