Jesse's First Halloween
When Jesse was a few days old I looked at his widow's peak and decided that he would make a great vampire come his first Halloween. It so happened that I was working the evening of his first Halloween but, ever resourceful, Todd concocted a costume for Jesse to wear to Todd's cousin's Halloween party. And yes, Jesse was a vampire.
Todd gelled Jesse's hair back and dressed him in a vest and black "cloak" (old black t-shirt). The best part? He attached a pair of plastic vampire fangs to Jesse's ever-present binkie.
(This is a photo of a photo. Somehow I have forgotten how to scan photos.)
I found this photo last night while I was looking for a photo of Todd and me the first and last time we went trick-or-treating together. It was four days before we were married and I had never trick-or-treated before, having grown up in England where it wasn't very prevalent at the time. I dressed as the Riddler and Todd was Two Face. The costumes were those skin-tight nylon jobs that tie at the neck. Todd had to wear a pair of shorts on the outside of his costume as it was utterly indecent. (And pretty funny too). I couldn't find the photo, but I'd much rather look at my sweet boy anyway, than be reminded that once upon a time I could actually pull off skin-tight acid green nylon with question marks all over it. Just.

My son did his first Halloween, too.
Of course, you must post the other photo when/if you find it :-)
ITA with Jen. I'd pick baby Jesse the Vampire up and squeeze him, maybe even let him gnaw on my finger a little.
30 Days of Night vampire ... no thanks!
