This is my blog so I can say what I want, right?
Thought so.
In which case, let me say that my son is adorable. He is also the only eleven year old boy I know who would use the words "authentic," "temporarily," and "numerous" in an e-mail. I received the following today:
HI Mom. How are you doing. (the keyboard is a little wierd to excuse the mistakes). today we toured lima. we got to see some pre inca temples, visited a museum, visited a catacumb, ate at a delicious buffet restaurant with authentic food, and we were temporarily lost in lima. we have numerous pictures.
LOVE HIM!!!

The Daughter tries to use big words and manages to make up funny words or use the word in a completely wrong context, like when she told Rob and me to stop "franchising" (she meant fraternizing). The Middle used to use words beyond his age level, which always cracked us up - and impressed us. Does your boy read a lot? That's usually the source.
Whatever the case may be, way to go, Mom - you should be proud. He's gonna ace that part of the SATs :-)!!
Impressive and adorable all at the same time. Alex tries to use big words, but the poor boy uses them at the wrong time. At least he tries.
Thanks :) I really want my kids to be independant and see new places. I never want them to miss out on things because they're tied to home or afraid. I've tried to foster a spirit of adventure and "make-it-happen." All that said...I miss my boy. I foresee the day when he can take off to where ever he wants to go and doesn't have to keep us informed if he doesn't want to :(
He certainly has, and until all hours of the night aswell!
I love your daughter's inventive use of words :) I couldn't laugh though because sometimes I do things like that and Todd corrects me and then I want to punch him.
Jesse is a voracious reader but even before he could read he was always verbally precocious. I think it's because we never baby-talked to him and also read, read, read aloud until we were blue in the face!
happy mother's day :)
